pure

a cardboard box contains my crayons
unflattering. rectangled. abrupt.
unworthy to hold such
-potential
would they not be better free?
displayed in brilliance,
under physically enhancing conditions?

ah. but then they scatter
and the sun melts them
and the elements violate them of their individuality
smudging their labels
and they chip.
little tiny pieces
degenerate. broken. rainbow.
oh, LET US keep it as intended:
a cardboard box contains my crayons!
